What the Kubota U17-5 is for
The Kubota U17-5 is a 1.7 tonne mini digger, and it is the machine most people mean when they say mini digger. It has the reach and the weight for proper groundwork, but it still fits down the side of a house.
Most of our mini digger hires in Wolverhampton are footings for extensions and garden rooms, drainage runs, soakaways and driveway digs. It digs to 2.29m, so it handles foundation trenches that the micro digger cannot reach.
Access: it needs a 1.0m gap. Measure the narrowest point, including gate posts, downpipes and bins. If you have less than 1.0m, the K008-5 micro is the one you want.
Where people go wrong: they dig all day and then realise nobody planned where the spoil goes. Book a dumper or a skip at the same time, and decide where the soil ends up before the machine arrives.
